Hi, I’m Lori Heifetz, I’m a freelance journalist I’m based in New York. I’ve written for sorry for the noise. I better start walking away from it. I apologize. This is New York. It’s really a drag. Um, I’ve written for USA today, New York post, um, you know, different outlets. Um, so anyway, I was just curious, this is a great present patient. I’ve learned so much. I would just curious, like, is there any, what do we have any idea when press trips could actually start again?

Gavin Landry:

Yeah. Great question. Uh, why don’t I do this? Why don’t I have my team follow up, follow up with you personally, and also on that matter, um, because that all is, is, is obviously dependent upon what’s going on with the reopening and things that happened from May 17th on, I will tell you this much, we, we have a huge commitment to engaging with our media and our press partners, and we have done an enormous amount of that activity in the past. And we can, we, we are definitely committed to doing the same in the future. Now it may mean that there’ll be an in real life and an in real time component. So as I mentioned before, maybe you have four journalists that are actually physically on the ground, and you might have another 10 that are being engaged virtually on the exact same press trip.

Gavin Landry:

So it could be a different type of approach. Um, but our commitment, because not everyone will want to travel or can travel and PR, and perhaps we can scale it even more, you know, whereas a press trip that we could only take reasonably 10 people on. Maybe now we can have that press trip, you know, engage more and scale more. So we’re thinking about a number of ways, but I will have our team definitely get ahold of you and then try to, you know, see how we can work together as soon as things are shaped up.

স্পিকার 7:

Yeah, I can, I can send you my email, my contact info in the chat privately right now. If you’d like,

Gavin Landry:

Yeah, actually my team will pick it up there in the chat, so Julia and Alison will pick it up and that’s great. We’ll definitely be in touch for sure.

জুয়ারজেন স্টেইনমেটজ:

Yeah. And then we would share the, we can share the information from our end. No, we know who you are because you registered, so don’t worry.

জুয়ারজেন স্টেইনমেটজ:

Well, um, I don’t know if there’s any, any more questions. Uh, w w R is a little bit over time, but then again, we’re not the BBC, so we’re more flexible. Thank you for gambling for staying in here, but so far it has been a fantastic session. And, um, please, if there are any more questions we should, Oh, Gavin could respond to a, please raise your hand now. Uh, I know Def being, uh, Julia Gordon and Colin byte, uh, had some comments. So if you wanted to say anything, just raise your hand and we’d be happy to give you the microphone. And, um, if not for probably a little bit, um, overtime already. And, um, and we can probably learn a lot from this session and, um, hopefully Gavin, uh, we can have you and your team again and upset about what is going on, because this is a fast moving, breaking news development in not only in Britain in the world.

জুয়ারজেন স্টেইনমেটজ:

And we definitely like to stay on top of it. I don’t see any anyone raising hands right now. So, uh, I wanted to take this opportunity to, uh, think Gavin and his team for putting this together. Uh, this was wonderful and it was very helpful. I think we all got a taste of, um, how off the UK and Britain and, um, and we’re all looking forward to traveling back to Britain. I’m certainly looking forward to getting the same sort of this opportunity. We hope that the world, just one second, uh, we also hope that, uh, uh, events like the world, uh, travel market, what is a yearly event for many of us in the travel and tourism industry will happen again in November, so we can all meet. Now. I see a few people not raising him. So, uh, Johnny just hang in there because we gave you the microphone earlier, but maybe before we go, I wanted to, uh, two more and then maybe we can wrap it up. There is, uh, Bob [inaudible] you, uh, you wanted to say something, go ahead, please tell us where you are.

I live in a little town, upstate New York called Saratoga Springs. Gavin says the law, anytime I got in trouble with the putting that on the stop sign, but listen, um, I have a lot of interest in England. Uh, years ago, we started and got into a little bit of a stutter start with, um, being a sister city for Chester. And as part of that, you know, we’ve sent, we brought some people over there I’ve been over there and we were fortunate enough to have some of the racing people over there. Give us tours of a couple of different yards, uh, Don McCain, that kind of good stuff.

স্পিকার 8:

Yeah, that’s right. And the question that I’ve got is, you know, what do we see as far as restrictions, uh, on attendance at racing over there? Have we made any decisions? I know some owners got into see some of the jump races here recently, but you know, I’ve had some people asking me whatever happened to that. Are we going to do anything about that? You know, we were doing more than racing. We were touring, you know, uh, up there and stoke, we were touring over Winchester. We were over in Wales, that kind of thing. So that’s basically the question I have so I can commute.

Gavin Landry:

Yeah, sure. Look, I don’t know specifically the, um, the protocols that are in place for the UK racing industry. I’m sure the team can come back to you on that. We’ll we’ll do that. We’ll do that research. Um, but suffice to say that, you know, that the UK racing is a hugely important of the entire racing ecosystem, as you know, and a lot of those Europeans will make their way to you in Saratoga, um, at some point for your great race mate. So we, we definitely are very happy to see that, you know, the likes of Newcastle and others have been putting forward their programs. I don’t know exactly. It may be very similar to what’s happening here. Although you have some States like Kentucky, where they’re allowing, you know, guests pretty much, you know, to, to come as they are. Uh, and then you have other States that are like California, that are managing that attendance program a little better here in New York. Um, attractions will be going into 50% capacity, you know, and about mid may. So, you know, all things considered, you know, there’s progress being made and then these things. So, you know, hopefully there’ll be a great Saratoga, meet a great Belmont meet and lead up to that. But let me have our team come back to you, Bob. And, and it’s just good to see you. Good to see you healthy and wealthy and wise as always. And thank you for asking that question.

স্পিকার 8:

Yeah. And the reverse as well. Kevin, what do we see as far as people being able to make their trips from UK to here, if you could share that with when your team gets up with me,

Gavin Landry:

W we’ll do yeah, we’ll do. I mean, it certainly, it becomes a little tricky because, um, as an example, the UK, uh, flights into Orlando are hugely important when it comes to inbound from UK in this country. And as you know, you know, Florida has had a little bit of trouble, uh, compared to other States managing pandemic. Um, so you know, the attractions Disney and otherwise that are so popular with, with the Brits, you know, it’s important that both, both countries continue to progress on this, this vaccination and, you know, whatever herd immunity it does mean, you know, uh, programs. So that, that, that there can be, you know, there could be a mutual exchange of commerce and a mutual exchange of trade. And obviously those experience experiences on both sides of the pond are openly available.

স্পিকার 8:

Yeah. Herd immunity has a couple of meanings, doesn’t it?

জুয়ারজেন স্টেইনমেটজ:

Yes, it does. Thank you, Bob. Now, before we go, I wanted to, um, professors know what I call it Nissan. I talked to her laundry, but you are already in Serbia. She erased her hand. So I definitely want to give you the opportunity to ask a question or to make a comment to go ahead, professor

স্পিকার 8:

Good evening, everyone from Serbia,

স্পিকার 9:

It was really excellent than the, maybe is important for you to know that Serbian people are big travelers. They like to travel a lot to foreign countries. And also they like to travel to great Britain as well. Uh, I, you remind me on my tours of great Britain, which were a few decades ago when I used to be a student and work as a tourist guide, you go from them one of the best, uh, tour operator at that time, not only in, uh, uh, Serbia, but in the British market. We had a tour. I was working then in London, we had the tour of 2000 kilometers around great Britain, 14 days, uh, Cardiff, then Wales, where I come back and national park Cadbury’s with Conway, castle, uh, Chester, Liverpool at the [inaudible] and the York and such a things. And I can tell you all the, these stores are very expensive.

স্পিকার 9:

Uh, people like to travel a lot. So it is very important for us to know about the vaccination, because for example, in Serbia, in June, I think about 60% or more, the Serbian people will be, uh, completely vaccinated. Uh, so we can travel around. Uh, nowadays we traveled to Greece, to Cyprus, to Turkey, to Egypt, and all the countries in the Balkan region with the, uh, you know, uh, just to show the paper that you are vaccinated. So for us, it will be very important. And I think for the rest of the world, uh, uh, when you, uh, to get the decision, how can we answer great Britain? You know, is it going to be a PCR test or a vaccination and such a things, especially as the year against that here in Serbia, we have, we can choose between four different vaccines, Pfizer and the AstraZeneca and Courtney can the scene of harm and the Moderna will come as well.

স্পিকার 9:

So, you know, our people are, uh, really, uh, good in vaccination, then it is very important for us, but for us, it’s very important to know, uh, what was the, I mean, uh, how can we enter the great braids? And of course I can tell you that the visa is very expensive because six months visa or, you know, is a hundred pounds. Uh, then, uh, another visa is about two, 300 pounds. If you want, the five years, visa is more than a fat 500 pounds, but we can’t do anything about it. Of course. I don’t know if you can do something about, but I think that, uh, this, uh, night, I mean, this evening was really excellent. Thank you very much. I got so many new information and of course I hope that we will see you in November for the world travel Mart, because this is for me, the most important event in tourism. It was for the cage because I was in 1979 when it was the first one in London. And I was two years ago, every year I was coming. So I hope that we can join together for world travel Martin mundane in November this year.

জুয়ারজেন স্টেইনমেটজ:

Thank you for your comments professor since then. Thank you very much. There’s no, he, yes. And of course, the whole question about visas to countries and the cost involved with visa is, is maybe another subject. Uh, we should discuss not only with the UK, also with United States and many other countries where fees, our fees are astronomical and not really helpful for tourism. Um, this should be an open world, and I hope that zoom and COVID would have one good outcome for everyone that country countries understand how important it is actually to visit each other and how important it is to keep these, uh, these realistic and in proportion. And I have to agree with professors, know what, uh, uh, fees in the UK and in the us, and in many other countries in the, in the, in the restaurant are really not, uh, in proportion of, uh, what it is, because these are, should be there for security and not to make money specifically, not in times where businesses need it, but on a positive note, um, not all of us need visa for the UK, and it’s, it’s a destination to travel to, and we’re all looking forward, uh, to visit Britain again.

জুয়ারজেন স্টেইনমেটজ:

And this was a very, very interesting session, uh, for me. And I think for everyone else here, and I get a lot of good comments and I want it to think Gavin for having spent an hour and 40 minutes with us actually more because you came in like 10 minutes early.

জুয়ারজেন স্টেইনমেটজ:

So I really appreciate it. And we hope to see you all on again. So before I get governed, the last word I wanted to remind everybody, if you want it to be part of our session tomorrow on St. Vincent, what also would be interesting because St. Vincent, of course, as you know, what hit by a terrible, um, uh, Bocchino and D the Island, uh, for most of it promote part of the Island, as far as I understand is evacuated still. And tourism is also a pillow of the economy. Uh, so we’re going to hear more from St Vincent word stance, if tourism is opening and where people can go to and how they can go to that, it’s about the same time tomorrow. And you can go to work tourism events.com and join us. Anyone who is not a member of the word tourism network piece, become a member and join our group of almost 2000 people.

জুয়ারজেন স্টেইনমেটজ:

Many of them are tourism leaders. Some of them are ministers of tourism, but most of us are the people, uh, like, uh, not you see, in, in, on, on this group, people who are working in the industry, medium, small guys, small size companies that probably needs a lot of guidance and helps in this business. And so we also invite of course, visit Britain to join us. Um, then you would become, I think that once you approach tourism board, um, in, in our group in any case, um, thank you everyone again, uh, you can see the archive of this event on lightstream.travel. It’ll be up in a few hours, and then we’re going to be rerunning this for the next 24 hours till we actually start with the St Vincent event in the morning, our time in the morning, or even in your time, um, in about 20 some hours.

জুয়ারজেন স্টেইনমেটজ:

So you can see it back to back on each of our news on live stream, and many of our partners, including here locally, and how on Hawaii news online and on our European channels and on also in our foreign language channels. And you can actually see a translation into your own language on the screen and more than 50 languages. So we’ve, we hope, um, to get this message out for Gavin, for Britain, and, uh, we hope to be able to have this discussion again, very stolen and thank you everyone. And if you do want to join board tourism network, go to wtn.travel, Gavin, you have the last word.

Gavin Landry:

Well, I can’t express how much gratitude we have for this opportunity. And just also for the group of folks that are on the call and the, the wider audience for everything you do has been a struggle this past year plus has been very difficult for all of us. And I think we have a mutual goal and one goal that we can all get behind, which is to recover this important, uh, part of the economy, um, to get people back into travel, uh, having the experiences are so meaningful for our lives. And, and certainly, you know, I remember the days after nine 11, the days after 2008, um, we will recover. We will, we will come back from this, um, but we can only do it together. So I look forward to being part of the community as much as we can. And however we can help you please do reach out to me and my team. Um, I think we posted, uh, email addresses for folks to get, get in touch with anyone, um, when it comes to particular topics. So thanks again and good luck be well, take care of yourselves and each other. Everybody.

জুয়ারজেন স্টেইনমেটজ:

Thank you very much. Gavin, maybe one last thing. If you wanted to get in touch with Gavin or anyone from the UK team that you didn’t see the email here, be afraid to, um, drop us a note, just go to wtn.travel, click on contact, and we’d be happy to forward it. Thank you everybody.
